Can't say I blame him, where I he, and I knew what we know about him I wouldn't come anywhere near that camp. It's security. The guy's a big loser that could never inspire a nation to hope and everything, a Turdblossom, but he ain't stupid enough to mingle w/ a crowd that thinks he's responsible for fascism and war profiteering.

Aren't floods supposed to be biblical? Just asking.

F..K Rove. He probably planted a bomb somewhere in the vicinity of Camp Casey, or bugged the buses, or let loose avian flu, or something. You can be sure that why-ever he went there, he was up to no-good. At least, his whereabouts have been noted...got to keep a watchful eye out for terrorists like Rove.

Rove and his little merry band of fascists are traitors, waiting to be hung up in a ditch somewhere.

He should get ready by putting the official t-shirt on "I MAY HAVE COMMITTED TREASON, BUT IM STILL THE PRESIDENT"

Then everyone would get a laugh!

Between this and what HASN"T been done for the hurricane victims, I say F**K these people, and we need to make sure no one ever forgets any of this.

The neglect of the residents in N.O. is enough to cause me to lose sleep for a long, long time.

We have family in Biloxi who lost everything. Guess where their son is! That's right, he's in Iraq. No help in Biloxi either.

This is disgraceful, and where is that a$$h*le Rove? Helping the victims in the third world city of N.O.? Oh, no-o-o-o-o-o! Couldn't go there, could he? No, but he can take his big fat a$$ to Texas, for political schmoozing!

Ricky, Ricky, Ricky. Winning an election by Supreme Court Indecision is not kicking anybodys tail. Now that intelligent people have seen the true nature of your Presidents agenda, 62% of Americans have decided Bush Sucks. Since both elections basically came down to a few percentage points anyway, that means about 10% of those who voted for Bush have changed their minds. Which, dipshit, means that it is you who is now in the minority. Let the price of gas continue to sky-rocket, let the number of young men and women in Iraq dying continue to rise, let the southern coast victims continue to be victims because of Bush inability to act and see how well you morons do in the next elections. Ricky dear, its time for you to put on your jammies and get to bed, you have your Hitler Youth meeting early tomorrow.

Doug Eldritch,

Wow, it is sure good to see you here! I feel like I know you from reading your informative posts over at the John Conyers' site. I'm not a member of Conyers' site because it requires registration now. I don't do a whole lot of posting anywhere, and if I do, there are plenty of places that do not require registration, like this wonderful BradBlog!

Now, I am glad I never became a member of Conyers' blog. With all the banning of the very best members, it has become nothing more than a cheering squad for the congressman.

Since my time is extremely limited, it is irritating (when I finally do get online) to wade through countless comments with no content. I want to see what's happening, and I need to find it quickly, so I still have time to read the links associated with the comments.

I have been guilty of doing a search on the comments page (find in this page) for the name Doug. :-) I have learned that you do the research that I don't have time to do and you always back it up with links.

I also love your passion for getting this county back on track. I enjoy your outrage because it reflects what I feel as well! This is the same reason I come to BradBlog. You and Brad are true patriots!

Regarding Rove & his ignorant minions: Do those people, fawning over Rove, really belong to the same human race that I belong to? Have they no shame or sense of decency? What is wrong with these people?!!!

Why don't you enlighten us all on what that great "noble cause" is, hahahaha!!

Come on now where is Osama? Where's the terrorists? Most of them are DEAD or not even in IRAQ!!!!! AND WE'RE STILL THERE, WHILE THE ENTIRE SOUTH BURNS!!!!

This is too hilarious, don't you get it yet kid!??? Bush even admitted we went in there to take all the oil. LOL!!! He said "protect the oil from the terrorists" well gee, who'd have THOUGHT that when there aren't any!!!!!

http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/blog.html

That's the only reason Kkkkarl Rove is out and about buddy!!! Do you worship someone who is basically a traitor? A

REAL traitor, who unlike all of us actually committed treason? Destroyed a CIA unit so Bush and his cronies could go get oil?

Hahahaha, you got me laughing I admit.

Sherry,

I don't know what came over the "admin" of the Conyers blog but he's banned EVERYONE who talks about israel and has gone nuts as far as I'm concerned. This whole damn lie of a war has been about getting the oil for israel anyway, and the zionist mossad government. Jewish people is NOT what this war is about, its about ZIONISM. Zionists are the racial opposite of Jews and its about fucking time someone explain the difference between zionism and judaism so they stop playing "anti-semite" with americans!

The truth is, they are almost entirely jewish adopted and are radical fundamentalists who practically killed the real jews. Zionist world order is a world order of oil.

That's why PNAC did all this, you can read the truth here.

The true strength of a nation, like the true stregth of a man, is measured by its ability to dominate, to show who's toughest --- come hell or high water. Bush has done his dambdest to make us look big and keep us on top, yet all you leftists want is for the US to flip over and take it from behind! Poor Jeff Gannon :(

Bush-asshole won't even COMPLETE his second term because of stupidity and floggers like you!!!!

You assholes think that the USA doesn't need peace, that it is better off as a fascist nation, and that is what your downfall will be

For in the heart of every american, and every person is the virtue of peace. For if we had no peace, we would all destroy eachother. And if we all destroyed eachother, and like whining children pretended to be tough, there would be no point to existence.

By having peace, and figuring out how to co-exist without brash idiotic, tribal nature and fucking childish behavior we go far and above beyond ourselves.

And that is where we triumph, that is where we

grow as a people .

You have failed completely and by the way Gannon, your name used to be Jeff Guckert/Johnny Gosch the newspaper boy.....What happened to that boy? The one who was raped by pedo-phile assholes who think of nothing but themselves. Did Johnny Gosch decide he should just shrivel up because he wasn't tough enough?

Or did he decide he should just be a whore the rest of his life, cause that's what gave him POWER? Newsflash: Cutting a deal for greed and going after nothing but oil hasn't made us better, its made us all worse and its destroyed our entire foundation. The age of OIL and their illuminati obsessive carlyle junkies is over!!!! It is time to once and for all, get an alternative fuel.

And the day shall soon come when WARS of any sort will be a waste of time because we'll be self-reliant, and have our own fuel, not stupid ass oil.

The end is here.

I spent a full weekend in journalism school, when I could have been making an easy $1200 in my freelance work, and I'm not going to let that training go to waste. It is my sacred duty to disseminate fair an balanced interpretations of current events to the American public, whereas you moonbats would rather drown people in a torrent of empirical facts and figures. As a Christian ex-marine, I believe it is my duty to uphold the fight against those who would derail the president's agenda, right or wrong. Compassion is not about crying over the little people and their misfortunes. Republican compassion means letting people pick themselves up by their own bootstraps, to receive their misfortunes gracefully and to learn from them the power of God's wrath. Wheras you liberals would rather give away the store! You guys wanted to turn the other cheek after 9/11, as if that would taught the world a lesson! While Karl was having his picture taken and stuffing his face with the false smile of, "we know best and all of you are too stupid to understand, God's great plan through me and shrub". Thousands of people are today in Iraq and now in New Orleans. And for Jeff, 240 nations have pleaded with shrub to help us and he wanted to be tough and said, "no we will pull ourselves up by the book strapss", but whose, the babies and old people who are dying first, the thousands of deaths who will be tallied? Condi's office tonight finally said despite what shrub had said, and we all know they never make mistakes, that we would accept help from all 240 of those countries... And Jeff, France is at the top of the list to offer to help rebuild the interstruction that the great tough bullies rove and shrub, cut the budget by 70%... We have Iraq and now NO.... and shrub is throwing one more fit... at least history will show how insane all of this was .... but by then so much blood on this administration's hands... Still into their one-up-manship & political games even in the midst of their botched invasion and the Hurricane's aftermath... lack of funding aided in the failure of the levies..the war draining resources of manpower and money...now the response is so slow and inadequate in the face of this disaster.

REVELATION CHAPTER 16

16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the English tongue America.

17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

REVELATION CHAPTER 18

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Camp Reality NEVER attacked Cindy Sheehan, why can't you respect other peoples rights to protest? Like we're supposed to respect yours? And FIND OUT FACTS...Rove did visit GOLD STAR FAMILIES, and ex vets from WWII, Vietnam, Iraq and families with current military sons in Iraq. Those were the good people that made up Camp Reality. The overwhelming VAST majority of the people in Camp Reality were military or military families! TWO had paid the ultimate sacrifice with sons lives and STILL stood with the troops. Be ashamed of yourselves for your assumptions and bad, biased reporting. Did you really spend anytime in Crawford that you're asking donations for?

Carl did meet with Iraqi soldiers and I believe we still had someone who had lost a son in the war at Camp Reality when he stopped. The only reason he stopped was probably because I held up a sign specifially addressing him with his name on it. WE (not him) asked him if we could take a few photos. His vehicle was the only one there-his vehicle was traveling alone. There were 2 vehicles coming from both directions (while he was STOPPED)that were having trouble getting by but they WERE NOT travelling with him. He was not laughing in "spite" of the hurricanes. I'm sure none of you have laughed or smiled since the occurance??? As for he or Bush not talking to Cindy or anyone from that side the words "lying bastard" come to mind for some reason. I've been totally against many presidents but would never stoop to that level. Perhaps if her rhetoric had not been so vicious she would have gotten more positive results. Whether you agree with the person who holds the office or not the position deserves the utmost respect. None of us came to Crawford to "ATTACK THE MOTHER THAT HAD LOST HER SON"!!! He thanked us for our support not for coming to attack her.And we were not counter protestor we were supporters. We came to support our troops and our President and their efforts in Iraq. It had absolutely nothing to do with Cindy. We're just sick of their honor and sacrifice being belittled. There were no new signs put up for his arrival as no one knew he was in the area. They were the same ones that Grassfire had come all the way from Iowa to put out to show their support for the troops. We had permission, by the way, to be in the ditch and were not squatters. The same party owns both sides of the road and Cindy and her group were the squatters as they just made themselves at home without asking permission.

Cindy's on the backburner because God put her there. She should have asked Bush her questions the first time he spoke with her. She was happy with his concern and condolences when she met with him or hasn't anyone heard?! It wasn't until a year or so later that she woke up and needed to blame her problems on someone else. Casey felt it to be a NOBLE CAUSE or he would not have RE-ENLISTED for it. She's trying to speak for him from the grave. It's very obvious she needs help and she's seeking it in all the wrong places. It's a shame all the $$ wasted keeping up her followers could not be used to help those who truly need it. As for Camp Reality(which I named) your CNN and MSNBC must have their spin machines on as well. For several weeks we were perfectly content sitting on the side of the road(in an actual ditch-unlike the other side) supporting our awesome troops and the mission they are on. If we needed anything we were perfectly capable and happy to supply it for ourselves. It was only the last week that private individuals began bringing things to us, tent, water, food. So Brad if you're going to write a story please get your facts straight before you write it. Thanks from the "right" side of the ditch.

One other thing I've been wondering about, how is that when we complain about the failure in thief-we're traitorous lying commies-but you guys were all for the 10 year 750 million dollar witchhunt that ended when all they could find to charge him with was lying about consensual sex-with an adult-during his SECOND term?

The ONLY reason you guys hated Bill Clinton was because he KICKED YOUR GUYS'S ASSES IN TWO FAIR FIGHTS.(Elections). I remember very well seeing that toad Ken Starr on CNN Every Morning saying-"Soon Real soon we're going to have an Indictment". What a Moron-what a bunch of morons. Of course the democrats put the phony machines in with the help of GOP because those that put them in, like Bill Anthony are DLC democrats. They are mostly phonies who come from the republican lite crowd. DLC is the reason there is hardly any difference between the parties, you would notice a much larger difference if you didn't pay attention to DLC!

Cindy lost her SON for a noble cause that was a LIE. You let yourselves be brainwashed by Rove's pandering, there never was any armageddon style terrorists. Muslims aren't/can't take over the united states!!!! NOBODY IS INVADING!!!!!!

No Osama Bin Laden in Iraq or big time "enemies"!!!! We're there protecting OIL, that is the whole picture!!! And you who get paid to put on these photo ops to make it seem all rosy are not doing any service to the troops.

Agree with the war or not, it was for OIL and that makes it a complete disaster to complain that Cindy and others are stupid for their sons being dead.

The biggest problems we face are not in Iraq; they are not even in this administration. They are inside the division in our country. Most people understand truth on some level but if they can avoid bearing responsibility by beating a war drum or blaming victims, they will.

Ironically, Americans from all walks of life are not that different from each other but we have definitely allowed our emotions to run amuck.

One of the challenges is how to expose the corporatism that is in charge of our country. Those who are the power behind the throne understand a simple concept: for instance, union workers are more difficult to manipulate than non-union workers because with non-union workers there is no collaboration---no talking and working things out. Now, simply by extension, a voting populace that is deeply and seriously divided, who seemingly hate each other---will not communicate either. This lack of communication, our inability to cut through the anger serves no one but the ones who brought us to this pass in the first place.

We would be better served to find a way to cut through the divisiveness---through the sound bites and roll up our sleeves and effect change. What can you do to make a difference? We don't need more anger, more hatred, more blame---we need unification. We need solutions.

Why is it so hard for folks like Marie, someone who claims to have been able to use her intelligence and insights to personally grow into a 6-figure income, to comprehend that it is entirely possible to both support our troops AND oppose this administration's so-far inept warmaking in Iraq?

I am a retired military officer, father of a military vet, son of a career military man, grandson of a military vet, nephew of a military vet, cousin of a career military man and uncle (legal or "adopted") of two current military men. I cannot speak for my grandfather and others among those I've mentioned who are now deceased, but of all the rest, not one supports this administration's handling of the Iraqi war. Yet every one of us supports our troops.

My father, living on his military retirement pension, was one of the first in his county to donate to buy body armor for members of their local Guard unit. I and my cousin have done the same. I have upped my annual contributions to various groups that provide aid and support to military members and their families. I donate time, books, computers and money to the nearest military hospital that is treating large numbers of wounded military personnel. However, I am also writing letters and using my vote to try to get the Iraqi mess resolved with as little loss of additional live as possible.

It is important to recognize that many of us belief that supporting the troops does not automatically mean supporting the political leadership that decides when, where and how to put those troops into harm's way.

It is also important to understand that many of us fully accept that the actions and efforts of our troops can be honorable and noble even if the cause to which they have been committed by their leaders may not be.

Casey Sheehan, thousands of others like him who have been killed or wounded in Iraq, and tens or hundreds of thousands who have "well and faithfully" served in Iraq were put in very difficult situations yet have consistently carried out their assignments and orders with professionalism. Fulfilling one's commitments and carrying out lawful orders in the face of danger is the foundation of military service and doing so is honorable and deserving of respect.

Willingly putting oneself in a life-threatening situation is, in and of itself, a noble and honorable act, whether or not the decisions of the leadership that lead to the necessity of that act were correct or worthwhile.

I have put my own butt on the line. In one case the threat was so great that I wrote a final letter to my wife that I gave to a friend for delivery to her if I failed to survive. I believed I had to go on that mission, but I also believed that the actions of the political leadership that lead to that mission being undertaken were wrong and misguided. Did my lack of belief in the political leadership mean I did not support the troops - i.e., myself and the folks going on that mission with me? Of course not!

Supporting our troops means more than just putting a $3 magnetic sticker on our cars or dropping our change in a jar at the 7-11 marked "For the USO" or putting up US flags on our homes. It also means ensuring they are sent into harm's way only after the most intense and sincere search for alternatives and then with the best equipment, logistics, intelligence and leadership we can supply. If we think our elected leadership has made a mistake in the employment of our troops, then supporting the troops also means taking action to get that mistake fixed.

Well said, Peet. I have brothers who have served, my father served, an uncle died in Italy in service to our country. and a nephew who was in Bagdhad for an interminable period. He, a Mandarin Chinese linguist, felt the same as you have so eloquently expressed. Another nephew, currently an officer in the Air Force, is appalled at the administration's ineptitude and even criminal behavior.

What saddens me however is the chasm that has so skillfully, gleefully been created between the people of America by those cynical enough to do so.

I live in an area where drilling for natural gas and oil is the number one priority. Those of us who live here are well aware of the why's regarding our presence in Iraq. I have talked with many people on both sides of this debate and this is one assertion that few bother to deny. It seems that those who are busy drilling for oil simply shrug and don't protest that our nation's children are killing for oil.

actually, since clinton's dick is smarter than bush's brain, even if he was thinkin' w/ it, the country was better off for it than it is now. but I digress.

as is pretty much always the case w/ republicans, marie is wrong. far from being unaware, when the clinton admin left office it perceived the greatest immediate threat to the nation's security to be a terrorist attack, specifically from al quida. nsa sandy berger prepared an extensive memo outlining this to assist incoming nsa condy rice get up to speed on the matter.

he wasted his time. when the bush mob took power, it ignored that warning & declared the greatest immediate threat to be a nuclear missle attack from a "rogue" nation, (this was only five years ago & I remember it clearly if marie doesn't) the appropriate response to which was a series of large cost-plus contracts larded on the defense industry to develop a "star wars" missle defense system. not much $ to be made beefing up intellegence gathering on violent islamic radicals, don't you know.

oh, how I yearn for those happier days, when don rumsfield's idiocy manifested itself in harmless notions like, the mere presence of a possibly functional shield would deter attacks & so we shouldn't test an mds before we buy it, since testing could render it ineffective by proving it doesn't work. such innocence seems like a dream now.

marie needs to keep a rational perspective here. it wasn't bill clinton who, a month before 9/11, received a presidential daily briefing entitled, "bin laden determined to strike in US" which included mention of possible suicide attacks using hijacked aircraft. it was gw bush who received that. & clinton was not the president who ignored that warning, to the nation's everlasting sorrow. that was gw bush too.

I don't understand how republicans can continue believe that this regime is acting in the best interests of the nation, or even that it's competent. these people display an eagerness for self-delusion that is muy creepy.

We can expect theyll do everything in their power to try to stop the march of freedom, Bush said of the insurgents. And our troops are ready for it.
